The sale value of Malaysia’s Wholesale & Retail Trade grew +5.8% to RM114.2 billion in August 2019 from a year earlier. Retail Trade sub-sector was the main driver with 6.7% followed by Wholesale Trade of 6.3%.

Volume index of Wholesale & Retail Trade rose +6.1% to 133.5 points as against the same month a year ago. The increase was mainly attributed to Retail Trade (7.6%). Meanwhile, the seasonally adjusted volume index grew +1.4% over the preceding month.
