Volume Index Of Wholesale Retail Trade Fourth Quarter 2020
The volume index of Wholesale & Retail Trade grew by 1.4 per cent quarter-on-quarter in the fourth quarter of 2020. The growth was supported by Wholesale Trade and Retail Trade which rose 3.5 per cent and 1.4 per cent respectively. On the other hand, Motor Vehicles sub-sector experienced a fall in this quarter to record a growth of -6.1 per cent.
Wholesale & Retail Trade December 2020
Sales value of Wholesale & Retail Trade dropped 0.3 per cent year-on-year to record RM 11 5.5 billion in December 2020, resulting in overall sales for 2020 to decline -5.9 per cent. The fall in December was due to Retail Trade which contracted 2.0 per cent. Similarly, Wholesale Trade also recorded a decrease of 0.6 per cent. On the other hand, Motor Vehicles continued positive growth of 7.4 per cent.
